Ba Da Bing is proud to announce the signing and first proper North American release of New Zealand’s critically acclaimed Tiny Ruins, the project of Hollie Fullbrook. Tiny Ruins' new song 'How Much' is out today.  Having toured the US with Sharon Van Etten and Marlon Williams, Tiny Ruins is primed to be a major artist in 2019.

“Fullbrook’s hushed yet forceful songs, packed with obsessives and resilient loners, demand your full attention.”  - Q Magazine

“She is always looking uneasily toward the next line, or moving toward mysticism. In sentimental contexts, she generates lines of wicked ambition.”  - The New York Times
“It’s hard not to be captivated by Fullbrook and her intimate brand of storytelling, as she draws you in with quiet charisma and charm.”  - Consequence of Sound

“How much would you be willing to give?” Fullbrook asks point-blank in ‘How Much’, ahead of woozily discordant strings and a stomping neo-psychedelic rhythm. The lyric brims with imagery of supermarket breakdowns, lilos, snarks and silos while an anthemic guitar hook soars throughout. Not content to leave the song at a stable conclusion, a thumping ‘I am the Walrus’-esque bass outro propels the track boomerang-style back to a space of adroit experimentation.

The accompanying video was filmed on location at Titirangi's beautiful Lopdell Theatre.  Director Charlotte Evans experimented with real time projections as well as shooting through textured glass and using theatre spotlighting. The concept for the video draws inspiration from abstract music videos like Laurie Anderson’s O Superman, and the opening and closing shots were inspired by Hollie’s surreal experience watching a Neil Young video at David Lynch’s home cinema.

A group renowned for their electric dynamic live on stage, Tiny Ruins have toured the world many times over in solo and varied group formations. They have played stages across countless cities with Joanna Newsom, Calexico, Father John Misty, The Handsome Family and more.
