We at Ba Da Bing have been ultra excited to release this record. We first heard Xenia and Marco play last summer at the Rock Shop in Brooklyn and were blown away by the intensity of their set. We got our hands on their recordings soon after and listened intently for weeks. There is so much depth to the record, so much to explore, that we felt the live show – as intense as it was – was just the tip of the iceberg for these two.

It’s been many months since that concert at the Rock Shop, but today we are finally able to bring all of you Xenia Rubinos – Magic Trix. Enjoy, my friends!

Brainwashed.com recently wrote a raving review for the rerelease of Natural Snow Building’s “The Snowbringer Cult.” Describing it as “the kind of album they would run into a fire to save,” the site had nothing but positive things to say on the duo’s reissue of their 2008 album. Made up of three disks; two being the duo’s individual projects Twinsistermoon and Isengrind and the third Natural Snow Buildings, all three albums are now available as individual releases.

Aidan Baker of Nadja + Insect Ark gear up a North American tour

Between late March and early April one half of Nadja (Aidan Baker) and Brookyln/Berlin based musician Insect Ark will tour a handful of North American cities in support of their new releases. Insect Ark just released a 3 track EP called Long Arms via Geweih Ritual Documents. Aidan Baker’s new album, Already Drowning, will be available on April 15th via Gizeh Records. USPS Price Increases

Heads up!

We’re sorry to report – the United States Postal Service has increased shippings charges across the board, especially international shipping rates. Our own shipping charges are of course beholden to the USPS, and so we have to charge you more for LPs and CDs.

According to the USPS online postage calculator, it will now cost about 16 dollars to send a regular LP abroad, and about 24 dollars to send a double LP.

You may have already noticed an increase in charges – this is the reason why!

(Digital downloads remain unaffected)

Harsh 21st Century Reality

One of the greatest labels to ever exist, Siltbreeze, has seen fit to reissue The Dead C’s classic 1992 double LP, Harsh ’70s Reality. This was the album that changed my view of music forever, as it was the first time I heard our New Zealand friends. Long out of print, and going for irritating prices on eBay, this is what many fans refer to as their Reign In Blood, or OK Computer, or…look, it’s just one of their best albums, if not their absolute best. Ba Da Bing has gotten in a few copies to sell, so if you’re interested, you can find it at our webstore.

Natural Snow Buildings record released in October – available for preorder now!

Over the past few years, the Ba Da Bing office has been listening to the varied recordings of French group, Natural Snow Buildings. It started as interest and quickly became an obsession. And we played them all the time, only partially because their records regularly run three hours or longer.

Finally, after lots of hoping and fantasizing, we’re pleased to announce that we’re going to be releasing Night Coercion Into The Company Of Witches on October 2nd. In our estimation, this is among the greatest of their releases, with side-long tracks that build melody around improvisation in ways we haven’t heard before. You can give a listen to a sample of the album here.

Night Coercion is technically a reissue, since the band self-released a CD edition of 22 in 2008. For the Ba Da Bing version, there will be two formats: a very low-priced 3xCD set, for those of you who are willing to take a chance on an incredible new band but don’t want to risk spending too much, and a 4xLP box set, with the tracks remastered by the band for vinyl release. No digital, except for the download you’ll get if you decide to get the vinyl version. You can pre-order this now.

Our web store is once again up, running and eagerly awaiting your hard earned disposable income in exchange for lovely records etc.

Extra exciting news is that the upcoming (re)release from Natural Snow Buildings will soon be available to pre-order.

Night Coercion Into The Company Of Witches was originally released in 2008 in a very limited run of 22 copies; so finally, with this upcoming album, the intense music that Mehdi Ameziane and Solange Gularte created on these tracks can be widely heard and appreciated by all.

Fans of Popol Vuh raga drones, Flying Saucer Attack distorted bliss, The Dead C’s intuitive chaos, and Islaja’s oblique folk, take note – this is not one to miss!

The Dead C Finally Receive The Acknowledgement They’ve Earned

It took close to 25 years of work and toil, and I’m talking about years of applying for cultural grants and getting turned down, years of playing to one-eighth filled rooms, years of bands telling them they needed larger amplifiers then they were using. But it all has been legitimized.

Ok, yes yes, they’re playing ATP in Melbourne next February with some of the greatest bands to ever exist.

But I’m talking about something much more than that. The Dead C have gotten featured on Noise Park.

We here at BDB HQ could not be more proud, nor impressed with how the geniuses at Noise Park perfectly captured how our trio looked after their 30 hour transit from Dunedin to New York the last time they came here to tour.

There is going to be some new Dead C recordings news to announce very soon.

Today’s the day – Simon Joyner’s latest album is now available to purchase.

The double LP is stocked in local record stores and can be bought directly from Simon’s website.

Also, if you check back to our own website in the next couple of days, the web store should be up and running again and we will have plenty of the records in stock.
