James Orr Complex

Bio:
At the heart of The James Orr Complex is one Chris Mack. Chris is perhaps better known as frontman of the seminal Glasgow band Eska - a band that ignited the Scottish post-rock scene. The James Orr Complex is a very different proposition to Eska; there is no angularity or math-rock within. Instead, Chris crafts intimate, affecting, fragile, and dare one say it, folk-inspired songs: think equal parts Django Reinhart, John Fahey, and Zeppelin (Bron-Y-Aur Stomp rather than Dazed and Confused!). Chori's Bundle serves as the essential introduction to Chris' unique talent.

"Chori's Bundle" was recorded in fits and starts over the past eighteen months - recording sessions were slotted in between Eska duties, a day job, and musical excursions to Brazil - Chris, found himself in Brazil along with seven other Scottish musicians at the behest of the British Council.

The James Orr Complex / Chris Mack has become one of the most influential figures on the Glasgow scene and his reputation as a musician and a songwriter extends far and wide. The James Orr Complex has toured with the likes of Bonnie Prince Billy, Television, Tara Jane O'Neil and Chris Brockaw. Having recently completed a tour as support for Mogwai in Europe on a series of dates in Germany and France. He has a series of shows lined up with Arab Strap across UK and Europe to coincide with the LP's release.
